CircleSing A Community SingALong with Bryan Dyer

Event starts in

02 Days 00 Hours 48 Minutes

Sing, listen, meditate and enjoy! CircleSing is an hour and a half of improvised group song led by Bryan Dyer of SoVoSó. The song evolves throughout the evening as people come and go, sing in parts, solo, and even take turns to lead. Singers of all experience levels are welcome. CircleSinging is an opportunity to tune in, listen deeply, shed beliefs and judgments, and tap into something larger than a single individual. It’s powerful. It’s embodied. It’s bonding. It’s healing. It’s life-affirming. Be heard. Join in. These times need our voices, our songs, our unique Beings. The spirit of improv teaches us to be in the moment and teaches us the resilience we need for living in these uncertain times. It joins us in a circle of human-ness. No matter what you’re feeling, bring it, your heart, and your voice to sing our world into creation – our way! Our world needs this. We need this. Come sing! Bring friends! CircleSinging can be described as vocal “jamming,” vocal improvisation, add-a-part/change-a-part, vocal orchestra, “voicestra”, community improv choir, a “drum circle” for singers, or just plain “make it up” singing. CircleSinging is a “mistake-free zone.” As a newcomer summed it up, “It doesn’t matter how you sound – the rest of the group makes you sound great! Come try it – it’s fun!”

Brother Ray A tribute to the late great Ray Charles

Event starts in

32 Days 01 Hours 48 Minutes

Often referred to as “The Genius”, Ray Charles Robinson was affectionately known among friends and fellow musicians as “Brother Ray”. Ranked number 2 on the Rolling Stone’s “Top 100 Greatest Singers of All Time” list, Ray Charles was most well known for pioneering the soul music genre in the 1950s by combining rhythm and blues, blues and gospel, and contributing to the genres of country and pop music. “Brother Ray” left a strong musical legacy, influencing many individuals and musicians, including Oakland’s very own, Bryan Dyer. Manifesting a life-long dream, Dyer brings together some of the finest musicians in the Bay Area to create “Brother Ray – A Tribute to the late great Ray Charles”. At this debut performance, you will enjoy a mix of blues, rock and pop, and expect to hear classics like ” Hit the Road Jack”, “What’d I Say” and “Georgia” along with some of Brother Ray’s own holiday favorites.
